A zoetrope is a 3D animation, where a physical object spins under a strobe light, creating a frame by frame movement the same as a cartoon film strip. Elle Bracket Industries built an outdoor installation, inspired by the Hong Kong skyline for Clockenflap Festival in 2017.
The interior was built from various 3D printed and handmade wood components designed to spin at high speed once the machine was initiated by a start button on the exterior. The casing 1.6m hexagonal housing structure was treated in grey and fluro orange, a colour scheme we use often. Minimal interaction and enclosed from daylight.
